Are we all capable of being both?

Angels and demons are often thought of as the embodiment of good and evil, respectively. But are we all capable of being both? To answer this question, we must consider the complexity of the human cognitive system.

According to psychologist Jordan B Peterson, the human psyche is comprised of both light and shadow. The light represents our qualities and traits that are positive and beneficial to ourselves and others. The shadow, on the other hand, represents the darker aspects of our psyche, those qualities and traits that are negative and harmful.

Both the light and shadow aspects of the human psyche are necessary for psychological and emotional balance. It is only when the shadow becomes dominant that we are capable of committing evil acts. This is because the shadow represents our repressed thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that we deem unacceptable or inappropriate. When these repressed aspects of the psyche are not properly integrated and balanced with the light, they can manifest in destructive ways.

Therefore, it can be said that we are all capable of being both angels and demons. It is not a matter of good or evil, but rather a matter of balance and integration. When we are able to balance the light and shadow aspects of our psyche, we are able to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives. Abet News
